Rising to the challenge during the absence of an Area Commissioner, Denise Powell, along with Brenda Frederick and Godwin Kruitwagen formed a management Key 3 this past fall, leading and effectively managing the Oakville Area. Over the past several months, the Key 3 have worked alongside the Council Commissioner and the Council Support Team to provide great leadership and support to Oakville.
On behalf of the Oakville Area and Central Escarpment Council, we thank Brenda, Denise and Godwin for their insight, passion, enthusiasm and time for the betterment of Scouting in Oakville over the past several months.
At this time, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Powell as the Oakville Area Commissioner effective immediately. The Area will continue to be managed by the Key 3 with the addition of an Area Youth Commissioner in the months ahead.
Denise started scouting with the 1st Trafalgar Group and has been active as the Deputy Area Commissioner for Adult Development & Training since the fall of 2009 and as a member of the Key 3 since its inception this past fall, rising to the challenge during the absence of an Area Commissioner. During this time, Denise has demonstrated the skills and attitude required for this position and shown sincere dedication to the Scouting movement and the Oakville Area.
