Announcement – DCC Community Development

Dear Scouters,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Hunt as Deputy Council Commissioner – Community Development for the 2010/2011 scouting year, effective immediately.

Greg’s recent scouting experience was with the 31st Burlington A Company in 2005 followed by a couple years in the role of Group Commissioner before being appointed as Area Commissioner for Burlington in 2008.

Greg has done a great job growing scouting in Burlington and during his time as Area Commissioner, Greg has not only built a large, solid and diversified Area team, he has also made enormous inroads with the local governments especially the Mayor’s Office supporting Scouting on numerous fronts in the Area. Greg was instrumental in developing these relations with the City to the point that in October 2009 he presented Mayor Cam Jackson with Scouts Canada’s “Certificate of Commendation” for his exceptional and continuing support of Scouting throughout Ontario.

It is with this enthusiasm and talent that we look to Greg to develop this type of relationship between local Scouting and Mayors, Councilors, all levels of government and business leaders throughout the Council – open the doors and build foundations with each Area, their team and the communities we scout in.

I invite you to join me in welcoming Greg to this new Council role.

Yours in Scouting,

Tony Copperthwaite | Council Commissioner
Scouts Canada – Central Escarpment Council |Growth through Program Excellence
