March Break – Advanced Wilderness 1st Aid & 1st Responder Training

The York Region Medical Venturers (MedVents) and Rovers (MedRovers) are hosting the 7th annual March Break Camp this year from March 14th to 18th. It will take place at Woodland Trails Scout Camp (near Newmarket Ontario) in Big Pine Cabin.

This is a great way for Ventures and Rovers to earn one of two first aid certifications:

Advanced Wilderness and Remote First Aid (Canadian Red Cross) – valid for 3yrs, includes all Standard First Aid and CPR/AED material (previous first aid training recommended, no need to be current though)

First Responder and CPR / AED (Canadian Red Cross) – valid for 3yrs (Standard First Aid training is required, no need to be current though)

Both programs are run simultaneously and are residential. All meals, cabin accommodations, certification and training materials (manuals, supplies etc..) are included in the course fee. Both programs are taught by MedVents/MedRovers/MedVent Advisors – learn from Scout Canada members who have lots of experience in training and wilderness adventures.

This is also a great way to learn more about the MedVent/MedRover program and meet some participants in the program !
