Streetsville Remembrance Day Parade 2013

Monday, November 11, 1013

This is a full uniform event but, PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. We go rain or shine! Due to parking restriction near the Legion, participants are asked to park in the Streetsville Plaza (Queen Street near the library and Tim Horton’s). Participants should then walk over to the dead end road behind the 2nd Streetsville Scout Hut behind Trinity Church (69 Queen St S. Streetsville).

Please arrive no later than 9:30 AM.Please use the washroom before arriving at the hut as there are limited washroom facilities available during the parade/ceremony.

The Parade and Ceremony lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours, finishing between 11:30 and noon. By tradition, everyone in the parade should be wearing a poppy on their uniform/jacket on their left over the heart. It is also suggested that a yellow ribbon may be added to the back of the poppy to show support for the safe return of our troops that are on missions all over the world. The parade itself will commence on Church Street and travel along Queen Street to the Cenotaph. After the Ceremony, the parade will then return to the Legion Hall via church Street.

I would like to inform the Legion of approximate numbers so If you are planning to attend, please send me a quick email at

Thank you in advance,

Harold Connell
