Congratulations to Daniel Nelson!

Congratulations to Daniel Nelson on receiving the Medal of the Maple for Distinguished Youth Service! Daniel is a current member of the 4th Trafalgar Venturer Company, and has been involved in 4th Trafalgar since Beavers. Within his Venturer Company, he assumed the role of Vice President and helped to ensure that the Company was planning events and running smoothly. He was also an expedition leader for the Amory Expedition, which won 1st Place in 2015. Daniel has achieved his Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, and just recently achieved his Queen’s Venturer Award.

Outside of Scouting, he is involved in his school community as a tech crew member. He is also involved within his community at large through the Oakville Speed Skating Club, where he is a meet official and provides mentoring to younger speed skaters. He was a Flag Bearer at the Pan Am and Para Pan Games in the summer of 2015.

Daniel is described as showing outstanding leadership and teamwork capabilities, and is always supportive of the other youth around him. He encourages other youth to challenge themselves and push themselves into their growth zone. Daniel is a positive influence, and benefits other youth as a result of his involvement within and outside of Scouting.

In which Daniel looks fabulous, and Dave, John, and I have no clue a picture is being taken. Congratulations Daniel!
