Central Escarpment Council – Incoming Council Commissioner

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Post as the Incoming Council Commissioner
for Central Escarpment Council. Dean will take on the Council Commissioner role on October 1,
2018.

Scouter Dean has been a volunteer with Scouts Canada for over 25 years. He has a proven track
record of working with teams of volunteers to provide safe, high quality, youth-led adventures
with all sections through a commitment to the Scout Method. He recently served as the Deputy
National Commissioner for Program and as such led a team of dedicated volunteers and staff in
the development and implementation of Scouts Canada program revitalization, the Canadian Path.

Dean resides in Guelph, ON and has been active in the Wellington Area. Most recently, he helped
launch the Guelph Police Venturers, a theme-based Venturer Company which has partnered with
the local police service. Professionally he is a strong, highly organized leader with 20+ years of
experience in the development and delivery of economic development programs for the Ontario
food industry with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. When not Scouting,
Dean can be found hiking, canoeing, bird watching or exploring the world with his wife.
